I was reading about Jasper John’s Farley Breaks Down series, with the abstracted Medieval religious imagery and military stencils lurking in the background, when Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads popped up on shuffle. Then, while I do not recall the details, this happened. Donald’s brain tragically ravaged by advanced undiagnosed syphilis. He recoils in atavistic fear of the fire he himself unleashed, perhaps unwittingly, but probably not unlike Shelley’s monster, creating a tableau epitomizing MAGA-GOP bigotry and dumbfuckery for the ages.
