A band or singer can be quite successful but still be on the “one hit wonder” list. Most publications say to be a “one hit wonder” you appear on the top 40 just once. You could be on the top 100 billboard and still be a one hit wonder by their criteria. I’m not that picky. My song selection is Brewer and Shipley — One toke over the line
