My new neighbor is building his dock now that lake is low enough. There is a 10 foot difference between winter low poll and summer full pool. It’s still about a foot above low pool.
This is a photo from years ago, but this is the barge that pulled up out front on Monday.
They unloaded a bunch of equipment and materials and the excavator, then the barge went back to base. They come up by land to work.
There is a BFR that is right smack in the middle of the imaginary lot on the lake bed, so the new guy to decided to move it. I don’t know how many millions of years that rock has been there since the glaciers receded, but there’s almost as much below the surface as there is above.

First, they drill into the bedrock 4 or 5 feet, then they drop a 40 foot piece of well casing in and pound it down a little bit. Then they cut the posts to the same level, weld on the stringers and eventually attach the decking.
