As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Hello friends, and welcome to another Saturday. Let me start by saying how glad I am that you are all here with me. Several weeks ago I wrote a diary about the death of Kevin Conroy, and the end of a generation of Batman films and Cartoons. This week, I get to tell you, that the story continues. Last week, Mark Hamill announced that out of grief, and respect for his long time friend, he has made the decision not to return to film as the voice of the Clown Prince of Crime.

For nearly thirty years, Conroy and Hamill worked together on all manner of animated batman projects, from the small screen, to direct to video projects. Hamill has said in the past, that for the longest time, whenever the studios would call and ask him about his participation, no matter the project, all he had to ask was, “Is Kevin in?” Whenever the answer was yes, he would sign on without protest. Now, with his long time friend and partner gone, he seems to have lost his heart for the character. To be honest? I can’t say he has made the wrong decision. These are voices and characters that my children grew up on. As much as I hate the idea of the animated universe moving on without them, I can understand and respect Hamill’s reasoning, and I applaud his choice. Thanks for a life time of laughs, and for one last lesson.
