Stay happy.

Alright, I skipped last week. I was feeling too empty and depressed. I had a few good days, lately. I keep learning, how to avoid feeling empty and depressed. My wife, Tonia, died, in March of 2022, less than a year ago. Since then, I have been on what they call my grief journey, always moving forward, towards my new normal. But, my new normal keeps changing. But the main thing is, I need to work, each day, to make myself feel good. This is part of prepping, because, if I feel miserable, having a prepper stash, of water and food, is not as wonderful. Of course, thinking about my stash, listing some of what is in my stash, that usually makes me feel good.

I tend to work from a list, a list of things to do, to avoid feeling empty and depressed. I have made a few different lists. Here is my latest list:

Watch the latest YouTube video from Mark Narrations.

Take a walk, about a half a mile.

Eat very tasty food.

Take my medicine (no anti-depressants are included, for me).

Wash dishes.

Cook very tasty food, from scratch, if possible. Or, at least, modify or add to the standards, such as, adding canned chicken and melty cheese, to a batch of ramen. Tonia taught me how to do that.

Watch the latest YouTube video, from Beau of the Fifth Column.

Watch the latest YouTube video, from Roland Martin unfiltered.

Take another walk, maybe not as long.

Take out the trash.

Pick up aluminum cans.

More tasty food, maybe chocolate ice cream, or cheese.

Sort items into bankers boxes, while throwing out many items that I have no plans for.

Work towards bigger plans, like buying a grave marker, for Tonia’s grave, and taking a trip on Amtrak.

Keeping up with my doctor appointments.

Posting comments on my brother-in-law’s YouTube channel. He and his wife, and their two daughters, are my closest family. My sister-in-law is a stay-at-home mom, so she gives me my rides to the doctor appointments.

Alright, just writing all that out, is making me feel better.

I am sure I forgot a few items, but, that is enough, to get this diary started.

By the way, if you wonder about face-to-face family hugs, every time my sister-in-law comes to give me a ride, for the doctor, or any other chore, I get lots of hugs. Hugs from a six-year-old, and a two-year-old, those are great hugs. Also by the way, my neighbors have kids, so, I hear and see and say hello, to other children, as well. In fact, I just gave away some old National Geographic magazines, to two of my neighbors, who have children. Feels good.

Anyway, your turn. Please tell us, in the comments, what you do, to make yourself feel good, to make yourself happy, each day.

Hugs!
