We potentially have a big battle over laws. If it is made legal to mail abortion or birth control to individuals within the United States can a state opt out. Without a valid search warrant the United States mails cannot be searched or items taken from mails, a mailman or a mail box. A post office box on the front of your property is under joint ownership of individual residing at the address and the USPS. Can Texas declare something illegal and supersede federal law pertaining to the United States Postal Service. If items used for abortion or birth control forbidden in a state were mailed and delivered by the USPS; would a search by state authorities be legal. If such search of mails is illegal under federal law or would those performing such a search be subject to arrest by United States Postal Inspectors or Marshalls?
