McCarthy accepted a bunch of new rules to give crazies more power. One of them, however, might bite those crazies on the ass. If 6 less extreme Republicans get so disgusted by the tiny caucus deciding their party’s policies that they would prefer a Democratic speaker, they could get one.

That’s not terribly likely, but neither is it impossible. If McCarthy, as he has threatened, keeps bills for funding Ukraine from coming up for a vote, If that happens, Republican representatives with large Ukrainian American constituencies might come under intense pressure.
