Good morning, Newdists! Happy Tuesday! Pull up a chair, grab a cuppa and spend some time with us.
All are welcome to join the fun, the silliness, the conversations. If you don’t know...just ask! Some things really do require a bit of explanation. There will be a few surprises along the way, all good ones, we hope. We are here to keep building the Daily Kos Community. We post Mon-Sun at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. On Sunday, we had a question about things you now have that you never thought you would want, but now could not do without. One of those things was “an air fryer.”
Now, I have no interest in any company that makes them. My interest is purely of a practical nature.
Is it worth investing in one?
I’ve seen them for as little as around $100 or as much as $300 for the “designer label” kind.
The bigger question is...is it worth it to take up space in a kitchen with yet another gadget?
I had no idea what an air fryer actually was, until I read this:
These devices are designed to brown nearly anything from crispy sweet potato fries to sizzling bacon, according to the cooking experts we spoke to. But an air fryer doesn't actually “fry” anything — it’s a small, convection-like oven that blows very hot air around its insides to cook your food with almost no oil.
