heya venthoologans, how was your weekend?

Today was a dry, beautiful day for the annual March in honor of Dr. King. It was good to get out and walk with friends. A contingent from my synagogue walked with our Black-Jewish Unity Group. At the end of the march in downtown SF, a few of us peeled off from the queue of people entering the theater where there would be speeches and such, and went across the street to a fancy shmancy hotel bar for scotch and charcuterie. oh the irony.

We are holding our breath between storms. I read yesterday that a woman had a tree limb fall on her in Golden Gate Park Saturday and she died; I learned today that it was someone I know. Walking in the park I often saw her. Our kids went to school together-- her son a few years older than DD -- and she was a member of my synagogue. The afternoon she died there was thunder and lightning quite close and rain in a driving deluge, on and on, and I was texting with a friend that we would stay out of the park for a while.
