As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

Good morning, friends! And welcome to another Saturday. If you have been watching my diaries, and Mom’s of late, you know that there are new family members in our home, a pair of furry little bandits. I thought that today, I might entertain us both with a few unexpected cat toys. one, you saw in my diary of last week… a remote controlled Wheel Chair, made by of all people, Hot Wheels!

At first, they seem a bit confused by the thing, and when it moves, they dart away. But when the tiny plastic man in the seat of the chair goes still, and the chair stops spinning, they go up to it, either one or both of them will pad silently up to it, and paw at it a few times, and then cast expectant eyes at me, until I once again begin to fiddle the buttons and levers that will again, make their toy move, so that they might be entertained.

Another, the second unexpected cat toy, was something mom found a week or so ago. Its a little toy program available on Amazon Alexa called Box of Cats. You need only to ask your Alexa device to “Open the box of Cats.” and the speaker will begin to call out in the varied voices of a hand full of cats. Our cats, if they are in their living room Condo, will look about curiously. If they are loose, and exploring, they will begin to dart around, up and down the back of the old recliner chair next to the Alexa speaker.

The last, is perhaps the most unexpected. The boy has taken to bringing his Nintendo Switch out to the living room to play. And while he sits in this old recliner to play, or.. try to play.. one or both cats will perch on the arm rests, and furtively,, playfully, reach out with one paw, usually when he is at some critical part of whatever game he is in the middle of, paw at the unfortunate touch screen, and cause some radical, and often hilarious game failure.

All in all, our pair of furry bandits have added some much needed hilarity and entertainment, to our home.
