"Ain't No Police Officers Died Because of Jan 6th. And I don't want the punk whose desk this is to testify either!"
You all may remember Richard “Bigo” Barnett as the man who his feet on a desk in Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office during Jan 6th and called her a “bitch.” Well, “Bigo” hasn’t lost that swagger because he is “asking” (his lawyer says ask, but I read it as more fuckin’ demands) the presiding judge for a few more things to make his trial oh so fair. There was a previous demand that words like “riot” or “insurrection” not be used. But today, Barnett wants no mention of the police officers who died because of the Jan 6th insurrection.
The man photographed kicking his foot up on a desk in then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office asked a federal judge not to let prosecutors mention the U.S. Capitol police officers who died after Jan. 6, 2021. As accused rioter Richard “Bigo” Barnett readies for jury selection on Monday, defense attorneys filed a flurry of motions trying to prevent the government from calling certain witnesses and making certain arguments at trial. Barnett faces a raft of charges in connection with Jan. 6, including obstruction of an official proceeding, entering a restricted building with a dangerous weapon, theft of government property and other counts… In two eye-catching motions, Barnett’s lawyer Brad Geyer asked U.S. District Judge Christopher Reid Cooper not to allow the government to call the Pelosi staffer who used that desk as a witness. Geyer also wants to prevent prosecutors from telling jurors that five police officers died after defending the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, describing that widely cited statistic as a “falsehood.” “The Attorney General and the President of the United States and others have repeated this disinformation countless times over the last two years,” Geyer said, citing Merrick Garland’s recent remarks marking the second anniversary of the attack on the Capitol.
According to Geyer, none of those officers deaths can be attributed to the violence of Jan 6th. Therefore, it’s a very bad thing to bring those little details up of police officers dying or committing suicide because of PTSD. And as for that Pelosi staffer whose desk was used as an ottoman by Barnett, we don’t need to hear from him!
You will be interested to know that Geyer himself is a prince. He represented Oathkeeper Kelly Meggs, and during the trial, Geyer compared COVID-19 vaccines to the Holocaust. Amazingly, Geyer got a rebuke from the judge in that case.
And they are just starting jury selection today. Imagine how the trial is going to go? And if you think Barnett will behave, you haven’t gone over to his Twitter page.
I pray that the bastard is convicted and does years in prison.
