I have been a wrestling fan since I was a young guy. I grew up watching the then WWF and WCW every night or day that they were on television. I went to Wrestlemana 3 when it was in Pontiac, Michigan and went to many other calling cards.

The thought of what rhe wrestlers thought of my sexuality never occurred to me, and had I thought about it I would have assumed that they would have been homophobic. But I would have been wrong. Not only are many of the biggest rasslin stars NOT phobes they have gone out of the way to speak openly in support of being gay.

To me this is a freaking big deal. How many other times to you find sports/entertainment folks doing so?

From Stone Cold Steve Austin

"I'm for same-sex marriage. I don't give a shit if two guys, two gals, guy-gal, whatever it is, I believe that any human being in America, or any human being in the goddamn world, that wants to be married, and if it's same-sex, more power to 'em."

"What also chaps my ass, some of these churches, have the high horse that they get on and say 'we as a church do not believe in that.' Which one of these motherfuckers talked to God, and God said that same-sex marriage was a no-can-do?" ... I got some damn good friends that are gay and I'm for same-sex marriage. I don't think there is a God that says you can't do this and you can't do that.

to John Cena

"What really makes up this country of ours? What do we love? The people. Almost half the country belongs to minority groups. People who are lesbian, African American, bi, transgender, and Native American, and proud of it. After all, what’s more American than the freedom to celebrate the things that make us, us. This year, patriotism shouldn’t just be about pride of country. It should be about love. Love beyond age, disability, sexuality, race, religion or any other labels. Because the second any of us judge people based on those labels, we're not really being patriotic, are we? Because love has no labels."

to The Rock

x Jeff, thanks man so much for these very kind words. I always say, “it’s nice to be important, but more important to be nice”.

I was told back then (by a few influential folks) that playing a gay man would “ruin my career”

I said “hold my tequila and f*ck off”

Nicely of course 😊 https://t.co/t2Irhk4EF9 — Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) July 31, 2022

And now Dave Bautista

Actor Dave Bautista said he got one of his tattoos covered up because of its connections to a former friend who made “anti-gay statements.” At the time, Bautista also condemned Pacquiao’s remarks, calling the boxer a “f------ idiot” in an interview with TMZ. “I don’t think it’s funny,” he said. “Put it like this: If anyone called my mother an animal, I’d stick my foot in his a--.” Asked whether an apology would help, Bautista said, “You can’t come back from that, man. There’s no coming back from that.”

I am overjoyed that all of the above actions have come out openly with no pressure from any community other than knowing what is right, speak so cool and openly against homophobia and hate.
