In the genre of parody movies I include pictures such as Airplane, Scream, Police Squad, etc.
Far and away my favorite such movie is Student Bodies.
Imagine if Airplane met a horror movie and you have Student Bodies. It gets a mandatory R rating not for blood and gore, but, I cannot ruin it for you, you need to watch the movie to see why.
It came out in 1981 and still spoofs as well now as it did then. It takes place in a high school with the “Breather” as the killer. It would not pass today with all the high school violence but it was made in another time.
It has imposed counts during the movie, also an arrow with the word clue whenever a clue is shown on screen, or a suspect is shown. And you will never look at Horse Head Bookends in the same way.
In this seminal horror-comedy, an anonymous killer known only as "the Breather" (Richard Brando) terrorizes the teenagers of Lamab High by killing every student who indulges in sex. The long list of suspects includes the school's psychoanalyst (Carl Jacobs), nurse (Janice E. O'Malley), principal (Jo e Talarowski) and, most surprisingly, virginal student Toby (Kristen Riter), who's always at the scene of the crime. Toby knows she's innocent, however, and vows to catch the killer.
So….what is your favorite parody movie?
And for bonus points who can tell me in the comments what movie the man in the following scene was also in, the one who “recognizes” and yells out the name of the opera singer ?
