Inviting a discussion of a different question raised by this recent Speaker Spectacle.
(The first question I asked is whether this 15-ballot process did political damage to the Republican Party. That question is asked, and comments offer some good answers, here.)
A question on which I’d like to tap into the collective knowledge of the community here involves the Rules package.
I’ve heard some commentators talk about the possibility that some of the uglier and more destructive concessions that McCarthy has made to those nihilists and crazies can be blocked from going into effect when the House votes on a Rules Package that the new Speaker will presumably be proposing (on Monday, in two days).
