My headline pretty much says all there is to say about this. Sooner or later the current House impasse will end and the incoming class will be sworn into office. Serial liars can apparently go through that formality of taking an oath of office. The ‘oath’ of office is just that, a formality. Clearly it is of absolutely no consequence when a proven serial liar takes it and everyone stands around solemnly nodding, smiling and shaking hands. Nothing to see here. Just a guy who lies as easily as he breathes saying more stuff with his hand in the air. The words might as well be “blah blah blah”. He already gets to vote on the consequential matter of who is going to be Speaker of the House. But then, the whole country witnessed the same thing happen when a certain serial liar assumed the presidency. I will not post a picture of Santos (I like birdwatching so...). I will not use the former guys name. It is not the spoken word that is power, it is the act of speaking. The spoken word, once uttered, falls into the void. Oaths have no meaning and lies are rewarded.
