Representative Kinzinger defended democracy when few republicans would or did. I like him for his enemies even though my policy views are extremely different than his.

The depths of the ignorance and stupidity that we face is hard to believe. Representative Adam Kinzinger is a daily target for the attacks of the MAGA Republicans. Of course he is. His existence condemns them. He is an example of a conservative republican who is not an election denialist nor does he support Trump's coup. Their most frequent attack on Representative Kinzinger is that he isn't going to serve in the next Congress whenever it begins, lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. However, Representative Kinzinger was no longer welcome in the Republican Party because he doesn't support the orange bigot or his coup. He was gerrymandered (this is the second time this has been done to him) out of his district or he could have run as an independent (although he probably would still have lost because he doesn't support Trump's coup or Trump, costing him many republican voters). He would have had to compete against an OG republican with a lot of history and support. However, he has won tough primaries before. He could also have run for other offices. So, it's NOT the gerrymandering. No, what cost Representative Kinzinger his future in politics is that he had the character and integrity to prioritize our democracy over his political future. He doesn't characterize this as special, but it is extremely rare and much easier for those on the side lines to do than the representative himself.

But this example of their criticism using the orange bigot manifests their ignorance and stupidity in several ways.

1. Representative Kinzinger declined to run again. Not sure that this is the same thing as declining to run again after doing nothing wrong.
