A fair bargain, if you ask me. Take the deal, Kevin.
My Speakership for a Horse!
According to CNN Reporter William Shakespeare, Kevin McCarthy is in a bit of a pickle. Looking forward, one can easily see his future unfolding in the following manner.
Kevin McCarthy has lost his horse on the battlefield and we see his extreme frustration. McCarthy’s opponent, Matt Gaetz, has sent men out on to the battlefield as decoys, dressed like him. McCarthy has slain five of them but Gaetz himself has eluded him and is now hunting him down. McCarthy has done well without a horse but has no chance now with Gaetz closing in on him. Gaetz’s ally, Chip Roy, tries to show McCarthy a way out. The dialogue between the two of them goes: McCarthy: A horse, a horse! My speakership for a horse! Roy: Withdraw, my friend I’ll help you to a horse. x A couple of oldies. pic.twitter.com/xJ6h9SRQlL — Ed Hall (@halltoons) January 4, 2023
Before his anguished cry for help, McCarthy had tried to reach out to Gaetz and his rebellious friends, but to no avail. What they demanded was a page out of General U.S. Grant’s battlefield playbook: unconditional surrender.
In the midst of a heated battle, confusion reigns and chaos rules. It is difficult to discern who is a friend and who is a foe.
Don’t try to make sense of all the chaos we see in Washington, DC. A few things in life simply cannot be justified or explained in a rational manner.
They just are.

The Show Must Go On
The rules of battle dictate there must be an ending, resulting in winners and losers. So far, there is plenty of uncertainty about the eventual outcome.
