Just Too Cunning for Merrick Garland.

Not much to tell here other than to once again state the obvious — the Department of Justice is not interested in prosecuting crimes committed by Republican operatives. This is the second time they have declined to prosecute this man — the first being his refusal to comply with a legal subpoena issued by the 1/6 committee. Meadows was texting and shrugging his shoulders while his boss tried to violently overthrow our government, and DoJ is entirely uninterested in holding him accountable for anything.

Meadows Walks again.

Public records showed Meadows listed a mobile home in Scaly Mountain, North Carolina, that he did not own as his physical address when he registered to vote on Sept. 19, 2020, while he was still serving as chief of staff. Meadows cast a North Carolina absentee ballot by mail for the November general election, when Trump won the battleground state by just over 1 percentage point.

After the prosecutor in North Carolina recused themselves, they passed the case to DoJ. Prosecutors at DoJ decided, lo and behold, there just wasn’t enough evidence to prove intent. I’m sure we’re all grateful for their diligent work. How many times can a republican snake break the law only to have the Department of Justice decide to shrug their shoulders and let it slide? The answer so far seems to be “as many times as Mark Meadows wants them to”.
