Barbara Walters has passed away this evening. The ground-breaking journalist who hosted Today on NBC, and most recently, The View, was 93. The NYTimes and CNN reported that she was the first female network co-host of an evening news program—co-anchoring with Harry Reasoner in 1976:
“Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists but for all women,” — Walters’ spokesperson Cindi Berger told CNN in a statement.
