There are some pics we never post: snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.

‘Twas The Week After Christmas
‘Twas the week after Christmas and all over this place, the holiday décor was now up in my face. To pack it away was the goal for the chore, before either dog could chew up any more.
Sonrisa had been pretty good with that cone, though the backs of my legs were bruised to the bone. The woozles were bored, though, post-op rules had been hard, what with not being allowed out to play in the yard, and oh! how we missed the woods, under the trees, finding cookies I threw for the he and the she!
But even worse was the state the house was now in - like I'd never cleaned since Original Sin!! The firewood left litter, the floors were all hairy... I'll tell you for free it didn't look very merry. And here in the kitchen, the toffee was gone - but it didn't go far, my hips still held on!

You can always tell who your REAL friends are
I no longer even own a swimsuit — it couldn’t be less relevant to my life. That’s my reason and I’m stickin’ to it.
Then out in the yard I heard a series of crashes — the wind had knocked over the cans that hold ashes! I dashed out to right them and set on the lids while trying to reassure my two woozle kids that the noises they'd heard were not a big issue as I wiped the ash from my face with a tissue.
Then inside I set to work - changing sheets, mopping floors, and making sure 'Risa had breaks out of doors. I dusted and folded and wiped till things shone while I wished for some minions — bugger working alone! The laundry was laundered, the dishes were clean, now a hot bath and pj’s were next on the scene.
I dusted once. It came back. I’m not falling for that again.
I struggle with myself daily about it. shrug One of us is winning, anyway… ;D
Before long we were back to what passes for "norm", but some guy on TV was shouting a storm about all the GREAT SALES THAT WERE NOW AN EVENT!, like they weren't for the last month and a half people spent surfing all those Black Fridays that have been here since May — it's not very special if it happens each day!
But I didn't listen, I was chillin' for true, snugged here on the couch with my holidaze crew ... I'd watch some TV, something easy and sweet, (and wish for a magic massage for my feet) and just be with my dogs and their profound contentment, as they showed me up close what a season well-spent meant!
This diary has been waiting since last year — ‘Risa no longer needs a cone [thank doG!]. Y’all go on being your brilliant selves. Stay safe and be well if you would, please!
