Hey ya venthoolgans, welcome to the last Monday night of the year. How was your weekend? I had a lovely beachy hike Friday, did some Christmas shopping Saturday, then spent yesterday hibernating and watching old movies. My daughter and her boyfriend made tamales for Christmas and also, for d.d.'s. birthday dinner last week, potato latkes and salmon. Each dish was delish.

I've probably said it here before, I love how this city really empties out during the holiday season. This year it seems especially quiet. Parking is plentiful and the streets and sidewalks are uncrowded. I'm just sorry the rain that's started up tonight is forecast to continue all week, which happens to coincide with my vacation from work. Oh well, it'll clean up the dirty air and we sure as heck need that rain and snow.
