A McDonald’s completely run by machines has been tested near Fort Worth. The sentiment towards the concept has been divided, but disgraced podcaster Elijah Schaffer has decided to kick it up a notch and say that an automated McDonald’s is a result of a [nonexistent] $25 minimum wage.

Never mind the fact that the minimum wage is still $7.25 in Texas. Never mind the fact that Fort Worth is just as tough for a minimum wage earner as San Francisco , even with the City by the Bay being infamous for having an exorbitant cost of living. (Not to mention Dallas, Austin, and Houston being harder to live for minimum wage earners than New York City.)

Let’s not forget that voters in the Free State of Florida approved a referendum that will mandate $15 minimum wage by 2026. Republicans may have said that minimum wage increases deter business (and therefore, economic health). But, apparently, that stance has fallen on plenty of deaf ears in DeSantis World, given that many deep-red counties like Collier County (Naples) and Sumter County (The Villages) voted yes on the aforementioned referendum.
