I don’t know why I titled this as such. Maybe because it’s always been my favorite coping mechanism. I remember one conversation with a friend that was more of a low level argument/fight. Instead of getting angry, which is what he was, I was laughing at the silliness of the whole thing. That just pissed him off even more. But I won’t apologize for trying to deescalate an ugly situation with laughter.

There are several kinds of love. One kind starts with misplaced lust and degenerates into a living hell of MISERY and DESPAIR- Al Bundy

And these days there seems to be more reasons to laugh than in the recent past that has been the slow motion bile spewing swirl of diuretic dipshittery. Even Qatar couldn’t poop in the punch bowl that was that World Cup Final. tRump is now interviewing potential cell mates based on their ability to save their fruit cocktail for him. Ukraine is proving that even a young (or maybe because it’s young?) democracy has all the heart and soul it needs to fight well for freedom. The wave of authoritarianism seems to have crested and sanity is now stabilizing the rocking boat.

Sure, there’s plenty of things to be concerned about. But I for one am taking a break from the sphincter squeezing suckathon.
