We’ve all seen by now that trump digital trading cards/NFTs sold out on day one, bringing him $4 million.

It’s easy to ridicule them — they are indeed ridiculous — but let’s not lose sight of what he achieved. The value he got is not the $4 million. The real value is keeping him top of mind with his supporters, giving them a tangible token to keep their passions alive and connected to him.

He’s not building an issues platform/movement and never was. He has successfully built a cult of personality. The worst thing for him now would be for MAGA to continue but with a different leader. He needs to keep cementing the bond between MAGA passions and him personally, which the NFTs will help do brilliantly. It’s way too early to count him and his movement out.
