Trump is going to drop out. You heard it from me first. [1]

If I was tasked to ruin a political campaign, I simply could not do a better job than Donald J. Trump is doing to his own right now. It’s been so bad that it’s hard to believe that we are not all being punked. Did he hire comedy writers to sabotage his own campaign just to prove how much crap his idiot supporters will take? I can see the writers room right now:
“Let’s start off by giving a really lame speech that’s so bad we have to lock people in and keep them from leaving. Then what?”
“I don’t know. Dinner with a Nazi? No, no… TWO Nazis!! Then claim you don’t them when it blows up!”
“Yeah, and how about right after that having him say he wants to terminate the Constitution!! Make his followers defend that!”
“Hey, you’re being quiet, Mike. What’s this ‘big announcement’ you are working on for December?”
“Just wait….”

I cannot put into words the anger in MAGA-land right now, as well as the vindication from those of us who lost friends trying to argue that this moron was, and has always been, a fraud and a con-artist. The right-wing media was buzzing in anticipation of his so-called “major announcement.” Maybe Trump will declare he’s starting his own party? Maybe he’s going to run for Speaker? Oh, I know—he’s going to tap Kari Lake or some other loser to be his running mate?
But no, it was yet another scam to grift his hopeless, imbecilic minions.
I did a two-part series on NFTs back in March—how they work and how political campaigns are now using them, so I’m familiar with the topic. I wrote that story at the height of the craze. Today, NFTs are tanking with sales down 92%. Naturally, Donald jumps in on this now. Not only is this a dying trend, not only are these poor quality even by NFT standards, but I can’t get over the fact that this is how he sees himself: a silly superhero, a cowboy, a spaceman, a pilot, etc. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so pathetic.
Do you remember when Republicans sabotaged the Democratic Senate race in 2010, and were able to get Alvin Green to be the nominee? He was on par with Hershel Walker in the intelligence department, and literally proposed a solution to spur the economy that involved selling action figures of himself. Republicans couldn’t stop laughing. Now the leader of their party is literally selling delusional images of himself. Now I can’t stop laughing. He is the candidate they truly deserve.
As much as I am enjoying all of this disaster, it also has me worried. Very worried. Donald’s stock is dropping like a lead balloon. Polls show DeSantis crushing him, and that was before this latest disaster. If you know anything about Trump, he hates being branded a loser. He already falsely claimed the 2020 election was rigged when he lost, along with all the 2016 primaries he lost. He is unlikely going to try to play that card again, knowing how much ridicule he’ll undoubtedly get.
On top of that, Trump simply could not ever tolerate losing to his most hated adversary, Ron DeSantis. He is going to continue to drop in the polls and continue to make even more missteps until the inevitable becomes the inevitable, and his only choice left will be to drop out. He will definitely do this: the only question is when and how. Most likely, he is going to announce he has a health issue, and then make some statement that his “guaranteed” victory must be postponed for the good of the party. He might even endorse DeSantis—that way he can at least try to claim credit when he wins the GOP nomination.
In the end, Trump really has no other choice. He won’t stay in a race he knows he can’t win. Just remember this post when it happens and that the true reason for him leaving is that Trump is, and has always been, a perennial loser and coward.
