I am linking this — he has a lot to say — but he makes the strangest point I have never heard considered.
Of course we only give Ukraine our second rate equipment and all that, but he goes further and says it would cost more for the US to dispose of those antiquated systems we gave Ukraine then the value of the things in the first place. That they were set to be destroyed because they are so old and we are so beyond them. I think he is probably right — since weapons systems advance so fast now.
What a weird way of seeing this.
That Ukraine using those old weapons is maybe a cost benefit for us? What a strange way of looking at this! I don’t doubt him. Just bizarre to me. Sure never occurred to me. Much of the shit we gave them is pre- 1990 stuff. That I understood — but really — costs more to dispose of?
For sure those technologies will never see the light of day — so you damn right we would just destroy and not sell them.
What a clever way to look at this. I am very impressed. He makes other points of course — but this take is just so amazing to me. No one has even considered this that I know of. Sure never occurred to me anyway. This guy is really smart for even thinking this way. Great speaker too.
And shit -he is probably right. Wow. How bizarre.
