Kyrsten Sinema, sold to the highest bidder

So if you need some digital trading cards to scare young children (or anyone for that matter), trump’s “major announcement” today explains how to be among the first to shell out $99 for your favorite trump memory (I’ll wait for the one with him partying with Epstein).

But before that grift, newly Independent but still terrible Senator Kyrsten Sinema had her own “side hustle”—selling sports clothing and equipment on Facebook Marketplace. Today Slate published a story speculating that the Senator might be padding her income and the millions she rakes in from pharmaceutical and banking industries by selling athletic gear online.

But the Slate reporter, Christina Cauterucci, could get no verification from Sinema’s office that it was really the Senator spending time online discussing heels (I’ve never been able to get an audience or reply, guess I should buy her used jersey). Soon after the article broke, however, Jim Small at AZ Mirror confirmed the story:

I can confirm what Cauterucci was unable to: All of the items she featured in her Slate story were sold by Arizona’s newly independent senator. I covered Sinema day in and day out in the Arizona House of Representatives for six years when I was a reporter for the Arizona Capitol Times, and then oversaw coverage of her as an editor after she moved the state Senate and then to Congress. And as a result, I can see that the Kyrsten Sinema selling a $3,500 road bike frame is the same one I’ve been Facebook friends with for some 15 or so years, and the one with whom I share 143 friends — almost all of whom are from the world of Arizona politics and government. Likewise, Sinema’s personal account is the one that posted every piece of clothing and equipment Cauterucci linked to in her story. In all, she’s listed 84 items on Facebook Marketplace.

Heck, we knew she sold her soul, now it’s boots, bikinis, and bikes (not to mention, purple wigs and “fuck off” rings for minimum-wage workers). Here’s a thought: Make this a career and go full-time in 2024.
