The problem that will not go away

Josh at Talking Points has an interesting scenario regarding the 2024 Republican primary election.

There seems little doubt that another Republican could defeat Donald Trump for the nomination…Normally you have a primary battle and one candidate comes out on top…and the others fall in behind that candidate. It’s very difficult…to imagine Donald Trump losing a hard fought primary struggle and then just gracefully falling in line as a surrogate for the guy who beat him.

Don the Con, the narcissist with an ego the size of the National Debt gracefully admitting he lost. Yeah when Sus domesticus learns how to use the Bernoulli principle.

Which leads to the worst nightmare for the Republican Party, T***p running as a 3rd party spoiler candidate. Even if the Orange POS does in Josh words “simply becoming a sullen and antagonistic thorn in the side of the new nominee” the results could be pretty bad in a race where winning the Electoral College may be measured by thousands of votes in 3 or 4 swing states.

So what can the GOP do to make T***P go away. IMHO absolutely nothing. The fools sold themselves to the racist con man in a Faustian Bargain because they saw him as a means to stop an emerging multi-cultural society that rejects their authoritarian impulses of control. And it worked. Thanks to Trump half a century of social progress (Women’s rights, LGBQT rights, etc.) are being reversed with the help of 3 Justices Political Operatives that were appointed by con man.

In less then 2 years the time may come to give the Devil his due. Assuming he loses the nomination Ms. Ogg thinks that the Party Elders could go to T***p and ask him what his price is for disappearing from the Public stage, and she may be right; because for T***p everything is transactional. But can they afford to pay it? And how can they trust him to keep his word? For T***p loyalty is a one way street, he demands it for himself but everyone else can go frack themselves.
