Pakalolo published this post recently about the terrible effect jet contrails are having on global warming.

Essentially the water vapor and spent fuel particles emitted by jet engines in flight in the upper atmosphere, combine to produce ice crystals and the resulting contrails block excess planetary heat from escaping back into space.

There are approx 100,000 commercial flights per day globally with approx 8000 in flight at any given time.

As the conditions for contrail formation are greatly increased at night and they can last for hours because there is no sunlight to dissipate them, both Pakalolo’s article and the YouTube link he provides in his post, strongly warn against booking night flights. Day time flights, while still harmful, are evidently considerably less so.

I felt that this information should be presented as a separate post to highlight it and make as many readers as possible aware of the heightened environmental damage being caused by flying at night.

Please cut back on your flight plans, fly only during the day and spread the word anyway you can🙏🏼
