A Trump indictment is long overdue. Will it finally follow indictments of the other big names behind January 6th?

Trump’s indictment, if and when it occurs, will likely cause the most violent and disgusting of Trump’s many meltdowns. He will most likely issue a call to “arms” to his MAGA supporters.

There will no doubt be some crazies that answer the call. But it will not metastasize.

That said, I’ve long expected that the other big named individuals that were behind the traitorous plot to overthrow our government will be indicted before him. Trump will likely attempt to throw some if not all of them under the bus. Such has been Trump throughout his miserable life. Which has inevitably reached its final stages.

The folly of following “god-like” authoritarian leaders expecting that they will somehow save them from their lowly existences never falls to be confirmed by history. But there is never a shortage of MAGA material eager to latch on to a new Fuehrer, such as comrade De Santis. But it should be noted that once such leaders reveal their mortal vulnerabilities, they are through. And Trump is fast approaching that moment.

Strategy & Politics May trump Trump Being Indicted First . . .

Trump’s speech alone on January 6th is grounds for indictment.

For many practical reasons, any indictment of Trump will likely follow some other big names. One being the benefits of watching him slowly weaken and self-destruct first. There was a time when he had more press and MAGA leverage to make big trouble if indicted. Waiting has always made sense to me as much as I wanted to see the rotten SOB perish. No matter how much he criminally deserves it, tactics, strategy and politics seem to trump Trump being the first of the key plotters to face the music.

Politics and Delay

That’s not just my assessment. It seems to be the view of DOJ’s as well, given the already long delays in making an indictment despite plenty of evidence against Trump, including a live video tape of him inciting mob insurrection on the Congress! There were also legitimate concerns as to the possibility, though less and less likely now, that an indictment would wake him from his stupor and actually benefit Trump’s dying political prospects. And don’t you think that this has not been already considered, otherwise he would have been indicted long ago.

I would also be shocked if someone “big” has not already turned against Trump to save their own hide. And what may be a very closely guarded secret, Giuliani is my main suspect. He has made more indictable statements than anyone but Trump himself. Giuliani himself demonstrated, when he was a U.S. attorney, the inherent weakness in going after a slippery crime boss too soon. It took four trials before he won a case against John Gotti because by then he had an informer who was Gotti’s right hand man — Sammy the Bull, in his pocket. Having an informer among the conspirators is the one legitimate reason that is not overtly political for delaying indictments.

Bad hair styling Rudy as an informer?

The main political reasons I think delaying the of indictment of Trump is that it may be of more political value to wait until after some other big names get indicted. This will allow Trump to continue to savage De Santis and not force the Republicans that abandoned him to have to support him again. While Garland may not take orders from Biden and the Democrats, politics cannot be removed from such a position and Garland, as with any AG, has to navigate such realities.

Sooner, Not Later!

I can’t rule out, no one can, that Garland’s DOJ will remain reluctant to indict anyone. Some think that the appointment of a special prosecutor was actually a delaying tactic. If that is the case, we are in big trouble. I want to make it clear to everyone that indictments of some of the big names involved in the Coup are absolutely essential, even if Trump’s is delayed.

Greene is daring the “liberals” to indict her.

To me, there are legitimate tactical reasons to indict others first. But those other indictments must come sooner not later, or we will go through yet another more thought-out Coup attempt. When a House member is bold and stupid enough to publicly state, “If Steve Bannon and I had organized that (January 6th), we would have won. Not to mention, it would’ve been armed,” it means now it the time for indictments! It doesn’t mean I don’t think she is a contrived attention-seeking fraud, but you don’t claim to be joking about a statement like that one.

Then there’s Trump’s outrageous theft of classified documents business, which is a pretty open and shut case. That might even precede an indictment over January 6th and may be even easier to prove. Either way, failure to indict sends an unmistakable message to current and future plotters that they can “try it again and again, if at first they don’t succeed.”

And render the law meaningless.
