Is by now an all too familiar refrain.

Could a little blue pill delay what we feel

As “senior moments” occur again and again?

Memory loss is hard on our friends and family

And memory care centers are under constant erection.

To fail our nation’s seniors would be a regrettable boner

As screening tools enable earlier detection.

Pfizer researchers say they have discovered up to a 69% reduction

In the risk of developing Alzheimer’s after taking their ED pill.

Would dementia be delayed in a similar fashion

With the substitution of the generic, sildenafil?

Certainly more research is needed

So let’s not put the cart ahead of the horse

Would it not be defensible, to put lead in one’s pencil

For the advancement of science, of course?
