CORONARY CORNER Update Reasonable Good News [1]

I'm leaving the ICU and being transfer to the "Patient Care Pavillion" on the 8th floor. I've gotten to stand up and sit up. Five days laying in a bed and you have to keep your right leg straight and motionless really does a number on the body. I've been waiting for a couple of hours for them to come get me. These gowns are cold and like car insurance they don't cover you South of the border.

They removed the venous and arterial IVs. Then the nurse pushed the incisions closed really hard for 20 minutes. Then I wasn't allowed to move for four hours least the incisions open up.

Just before they pulled everything out they gave a 25mg injection of fentanyl. That's the smallest dose in the pre packaged syringes. It was supposed to calm me and then quickly clear my system. Two hours later I still couldn't align my eyes. They put it in my chart but unless I have another heart attack it won't ever matter

I'm in the new room now. Plain but nice and quite unless someone gets out of bed without asking permission first (call light). Then the ear splitting alarm goes off. Okay fine so now I know. Someone else learned a few minutes ago. Also there's a real toilet.

I'm doing well. Not super dupper well but they may send me home this week. It looks like it will be several months before they'll let me go back to work. Winter break is about a month but if I decide to keep teaching I'll miss the first quarter of the new year.
