It looks like a fusion of Instagram and Twitter BUT be aware, it is a BETA VERSION and doesn’t have a lot of extras now, just the scaled down basic version.
You can post messages, add images.
I believe it will be the place liberals and moderates head to as Twitter slowly fades into history. I have tried 2 or 3 of the Mastodon types of formats, and none of them really grabbed me in the way #PostNews has.

Because I posted some info in comments that was NOT CORRECT, I’d like to offer up some info from Post TERMS OF SERVICE regarding paying for content:
3. Pay-as-you-Read In order to read the full text of some of the Content, you may be required to pay an amount specified within the Services. You may also be presented with an option to make a voluntary payment to read Content posted by an Editor. The price-per-read for the Content may be determined by the Editor, by User or by the Post. You may only pay for the Content using Post Points held in your Account (“Points Balance”). To purchase access for additional Content, you will need to have a positive balance in your Points Balance, to be used for your pay-as-you-read choices. Post may also elect to offer a subscription option where you can pay a flat fee on a regular basis, such as every month, to purchase unlimited access to certain Content. When you enroll in a Post subscription plan and provide us with your payment method information, you authorize Post to charge your payment method automatically. To cancel your subscription, you may do so through the Services or otherwise by contacting our support available at
[email protected].
What that means is they are trying to entice PAID content providers to join and post their stories, paywalled in part with just a portion of the story on POST and link to the full story, and allow users to pay for it in micro-payments instead of full subscriptions to 3rd Party sites.
In truth, I’ve sent many Twitter posts out about something like this for years, asking publications like Time, The Atlantic, The Washington Post etc, to provide a micro-service where you pay $5 or $10 a month and get access to X number of stories a month from any of the publications who participate.
