Strawberry Alarm Clock

Alright, I got a late start. So, to save time, I got very picky, and only picked, 20 songs, from the top 100 songs, of 1967. Feel free to look at the list, your own self, and add any songs you like, in your comment:

en.wikipedia.org/…

And, here we go:

Number 100:

Okay, that could have been number one, for the year. From the first guitar riffs, so solid, yes!

Number 99:

Okay, this one made me cry!

www.google.com/…

Don't sleep in the subway, darlin', don't stand in the pouring rain

Don't sleep in the subway, darlin', the night is long

Forget your foolish pride, nothing's wrong

Now you're beside me again

One of the finest love songs, of all time.

Number 94:

Young love, so innocent. MMmmm.

Number 83:

“The drums keep pounding rhythm to the brain.” Yes.

Number 74:

Turn the volume up on this one. And, enjoy life in the suburbs, with “charcoal burnin’ everywhere.”

Number 63:

Wow. The message in the lyrics, is truly unusual. When you think of how many couples eventually break up, it makes you think, folks should ask this question, long and hard, before getting too committed. And the music feels so good.

Number 58:

Lively and fun. They got a little off key, on the high notes. Oh well.

Number 55:

Hey, this one reminds me of Pleasant Valley Sunday.

Number 50:

Wow! That is truly, truly, one of my all time favorites. So happy, so smooth.

And, guess what:

Herman's Hermits is appearing live in Hutchinson at Fox Theatre Hutchinson. April 20, 2023

They are still touring! And, I live in Wichita, Kansas, not too far from Hutchinson. Hmmmm.

Number 47:

Oh, wow, so happy, so nice:

www.google.com/…

The world's a nicer place in my beautiful balloon

It wears a nicer face in my beautiful balloon

We can sing a song and sail along the silver sky For we can fly, we can fly

Number 44:

A little bit of philosophy, asking if we must be cynical, or give a little love. Good to stop and think about these things. (I think this song was from a movie.)

Number 30:

I hope that cello player is still getting royalty money from this song!

Number 23:

Maybe sometime, I will look at the lyrics to this one. All I know about this song, is that it is a very important part of 1967, in my memories.

Number 20:

Feel free to play this one, two or three times. Medicine, to lower your blood pressure. You may live longer, this way.

Number 16:

Less wonderful than I remembered, but, a basic element of 1967.

Number 13:

She was an icon, that song was her anthem.

Number 10:

Such a nice love song. So nice, so happy and carefree.

Number 9:

Again, so carefree, so easy going. Hmmmm.

Number 8:

Okay, who keeps picking out so many happy, carefree, love songs? Oh, that’s me.

Number 5:

“Then I saw her face! Now, I’m a believer!”

Number 4:

Just a light, pleasant, song.

Number 2:

Back in the olden days, there were these things called, paper and ink letters, with stamps…….

Okay, number 3, is about suicide, so I was not in the mood to post it.

Number 1, is about a school teacher, and, I feel you need to watch the movie by the same name, and then, the song has emotional clout.

Okay, once again, here is the link to the list:

Hugs!
