Political Limerick - Why can't we just all tolerate? [1]

Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) speaks at a news conference announcing a new division on Conscience and Religious Freedom at the Department of Health and Human Services January 18, 2018, in Washington, DC. On December 8, 2022, Hartzler issued a tearful plea to her House of Representatives colleagues to oppose the Respect for Marriage Act, which she called dangerous. The bill, which was already approved by the Senate, passed the House by a vote of 258-169 and President Joe Biden is poised to sign it. Hartzler has a history of opposing same-sex marriage and claimed, "they trample on the freedom of everyone else". Her views were denounced by her gay nephew.
Our country will suffer ill fate
If you don't all join me in hate
Against all the queers
She rambled through tears
Who else will we have to berate?

Her crybaby tantrum did nil.

The GOP and Christian Right
Think gays are a national blight
It's all so tribal
When they cite the Bible
But comes across as simple spite.

So why do we have this debate
O'er whether you're gay or you're straight
Who do we prefer
Madame or monsieur
Why can't we just all tolerate?
