The Road Ahead?

Not sure what happened to my first attempt at publishing this installment of my weekly blog (it may have had something to do with trying to use my phone to publish from a draft after repeated “slow your roll” timeout failures for unclear reasons), but the formatting was completely wrecked — so I’m trying once again.

US stats are getting increasingly chaotic with more irregular reporting intervals in different states, so don’t pay too much attention to the seemingly alarming trends this week (much of this data should have showed up in last week’s stats). Likewise, while China continues to move up the ranks for new cases, the extremely rapid growth we’ve seen for the past 5+ weeks seems to have slowed suddenly this week, which doesn’t make much sense if China really is backing off from its previous Zero-Covid policies. Elsewhere, Latin America and Australia appear to be ramping up strongly again, though Europe and Northeast Asia may be slowing their recent growth.
