Sometimes Speakers push political agendas. Sometimes they act like impartial administrators. But has their ever been a job more tailor-made for a no-nothing, do-nothing character like Trump, who would happily sit in his high chair above the chamber, lording it over everyone with a toy hammer?
If that weren’t enough, he’d get to sit behind Biden at the SOTU speech and make faces at the camera and shouting comments like a crummy kid in the back of the class. Then he’d get to sit in on Biden’s sham impeachment trials.
I guarantee that he’s the bomb-thrower caucus’s secret pick—I mean, who else could it possibly be?--and do you see anyone, including McCarthy, voting against him? Can they complain about fitness? Can the complain about politics? Can they say he’s already running for another office? Can they say he’s also running from jail. Would they dare publicly betray him after what happened to all the brave Republicans who sit on the Jan 6 committee? Would anyone even dare vote “present”?
No, Republicans roll over like the sick dogs they are and go for him in a landslide.
