The media attention about the recent sabotaging of two power stations in Moore County, NC seems purposefully silent about something that is very obvious to the local residents. The town of Southern Pines held a Gay Pride parade and Drag Queen show the afternoon of December 3, 2022. This sparked loud protest both in social media and in physical presence from the far right in the community. This segment of the community (it is said locally) sent a contingent to the Jan 6 attach on the Capitol. The attack on the power substations occurred at the same time the Gay Pride Event was ending. What is most surprising is the reluctance of the local, state, and national media to connect the two events. I can only hope that the FBI will find information to prove they weren’t related or—far more likely—to prove the connection and charge the perpetrators.
