Arizona Republican election deniers Kari Lake (L), Blake Masters (2nd-L) and Abe Hamadeh (R) talk with Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels in a border stunt
Cochise County AZ officials refused to certify their midterm results until yesterday, thus denying Rs their votes in a very Red district. People want to know what they expected to gain from that. Simple. Outrage and grift. Never mind trying to overturn midterm results for real. One of the supervisors admitted that this was just a delaying tactic, and they knew they couldnโt win.
Maricopa County and Luzerne County, PA gave in and certified theirs, leaving Cochise slowly, slowly twisting in the wind, unable to find a competent lawyer, until they came up hard against the deadline from a court ordering them to certify.

x UPDATE Cochise County Board votes 2-1 to hire Daniel McCauley III of Cave Creek as lawyer. Based on public profile, he has zero experience in election law. Dem Chair Ann English expresses concern that McCauley will ask judge for continuance. Court hearing at 1 pm.

The Big Deal in this case is that without Cochise Countyโs votes, the Rs would lose another House race and give the Ds another flip.
But instead we went for the rule of law, no matter how much Rs hate that.
