Axios reports that Newt Gingrich himself is warning the Republican Party to stop underestimating Joe Biden.

Gingrich warns GOP: Biden's winning President Biden "has carefully and cautiously waged war in Ukraine with no American troops." He just "had one of the best first term off-year elections in history." Nancy Pelosi? Ron Klain? Jill Biden? No. That was Newt Gingrich — leader of the Republican revolution of 1994, which swept him in as speaker of the House. Quit Underestimating President Biden "Quit Underestimating President Biden," Gingrich wrote in a column this week. "[C]onservatives' hostility to the Biden administration ... tends to blind us to just how effective Biden has been on his terms."

Both Axios and Gingrich are absolutely right.

The way the White House will sell the record: "The most significant economic recovery package since Roosevelt ... The largest infrastructure plan since Eisenhower ... The most sweeping gun reform bill since Clinton ... Landmark China competitiveness legislation that's already bringing manufacturing jobs back from overseas ... The largest climate change bill in history."

I saw many DK members fighting back and arguing against BlackGrannyRising’s recent diary:

When Gingrich—the egomaniacal hypocrite who brazenly demanded his wife agree to an open marriage, the self-aggrandizing architect of the 1994 B.S.-filled Contract On America—can see that Biden is winning? And he warns the GOP that Biden can win again?

Then Democrats everywhere, including here, need to wake up to reality. Biden is winning. Biden is a winner. And you don’t abandon the successful leader of your party when he’s leading you to victory and your political opponents are being warned that he can and probably will do it again.

Black Granny Rising was right and so is Newt Gingrich. Get a clue, get with the program and get back on the bandwagon, you damn fools.
