This week was nothing like what I had planned. I believe that every appointment my daughter and I had scheduled for December was rescheduled to a different day in December. My karate class was rescheduled from Tuesday and Thursday to Wednesday and Thursday. My husband’s work schedule was all messed up due to meetings and teaching classes (virtually to students in Hawaii) so he was home on days he normally worked at the office and at the office on days he normally worked from home. My son had taken off Thursday and today. Aside from my karate class I spent Wednesday and Thursday running errands, finishing and delivering some props to my daughter’s former school for their Christmas play.
My microwave died on me yesterday morning. It’s not dead dead — just broken. The little gizmo that signals when the door is closed so the microwave will run broke and needs replaced. My microwave always thinks the door is open now so it won’t run. The part is under $20 and I am debating on whether to DIY (because I saw a video on Youtube showing how to do it) or actually hire someone. I sent e-mails to about four companies yesterday. One got back to me and said he doesn’t do microwaves but crickets from the others.
I made six of these “ice” bricks for the play
I had started two diaries for the Diabetes group, one about heart disease and stroke, and one about kidney disease but I realized last night that I wasn’t going to be able to finish either one of them for todays drop so they’ll appear in the coming weeks.
Also coming up will be a guest diary from brillig on December 16th. I’m sure she will have a recipe of two for us to try.
On top of everything else, I completely forgot about my Tai Chi sword class this morning. I realized it as I was carrying a load of laundry downstairs to put in the wash but it was too late for me to get there.
However, all was not terrible. Tomorrow is my birthday and for the first time in many years, my husband remembered. He offered to take us all out to eat at Red Lobster to celebrate tomorrow after my daughter gets home from work. I was so surprised. I’m looking forward to the coconut shrimp. I know I can eat that with broccoli, a salad, and one biscuit and still have a post prandial reading under 145!
I hope everyone else’s week has gone more smoothly than mine.
