Emma Lazarus

More calligraphy practice. Each month I make a calendar. Recently, I was inspired by Emma Lazarus’ New Colossus. No better way to tell Ancient Lands what they can do with their Pomp, Storied or not.

Whenever I am overwhelmed by the xenophobia on display, there is always solace in calligraphy. Whenever my neighbors refuse to cop to the fact that we took this land at gunpoint, there is solace in just putting ink on paper. Whenever people complain about the working castes in the kitchens and the fields and the abattoirs, I can at least put down on paper that justice is real.
