Great News for Political Satirists [1]

There are many great political cartoonists here at Daily Kos, including: Nick Anderson, Ruben Bolling, Mike Fiore, Keith Knight, Brian McFadden, Jen Sorensen, and Tom Tomorrow. (That list is alphabetical.) Sometimes I re-read material they’ve done years or even decades ago, and a lot of their most topical material is still relevant today! George Carlin died in 2008, and a lot (perhaps most) of his political material still hits the nail on the head.

Why does decades-old political satire still hold up? Because many of the problems faced by the United States generations ago are still with us; in many cases they’ve gotten worse. The only good thing about that is that political satirists can re-use old material and still be relevant.
