I’d swear 2021 was just yesterday.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

From Snopes, an interesting article on unsolved mysteries.

Here’s an illustrated story about geographic misconceptions.

An article about why there’s no vaccine for the common cold.

The world’s first known author.

One subject that came up at Thanksgiving with my family was plastic waste. Here’s a solution to the problem that could very soon be commercially viable.

Good news for the Great Barrier Reef.

What ancient foods found in archaeological digs can say about the cultures that made them.

My rescheduled rescheduled chiropractic appointment went off on schedule this time. Afterward, I went to my bank for laundry money and then to a Supercuts I know how to get to. My hair is now shoulder length and layered instead of halfway down my back and tangled.

When I was done there, I went to the Wingstop right next door, which I hadn’t known about before and bought a 10-pack of chicken wings for lunch. Very tasty. I will go back at some point fairly soon.

Thanksgiving dinner ended up being at my sister’s house. Much food and several very tasty appetizer trays, very attractively arranged my my niece’s daughter. My sister-in-law the retired physical therapist caught COVID somewhere and didn’t come, but my brother was fine, so he did. I had to listen to a rant or two from my sister, but at least it wasn’t about me. And she did have a couple of points I had to agree with.

Got my first Christmas card of the season on Friday. From the BiPM household. I believe the handwriting is Michael’s. They wished me a mercifully normal 2023. I’ll take one, please.

Love you guys!
