Just in time for the holiday parade! Come see Santa riding into town on a fire truck kids, but you can also turn around and see the jolly old elf in the window is packing heat! Ho Ho Ho!

The only thing I can imagine that Continental Armory was thinking with this “humorless display,” is that the Battle of Crooked Billet was fought here and three regiments of Pennsylvania militia were trounced royally because the local Loyalists tipped off the Brits to their activities. So perhaps the manikin, still sporting a tri-cornered hat, usually has a colonial era uniform and the holiday greeting just shows how far the “well regulated militia” has come since the eighteenth century.

I’m not exactly sure who the right person would be to quietly suggest that in the wake of two more shootings since the parade, it might be time to take the display down.
