In the spirit of Benghazi, the GOP’s only reason to highlight Hunter Biden’s laptop in the next term is to get extraneous lascivious material into the Congressional record no differently than the Ken Starr report’s citation of erotic details of the Lewinsky affair. “What it does not do, despite some conservatives' insistence otherwise, is prove that President Biden acted corruptly."[96]

As a media frame, the GOP hope to impeach Biden using Hunter Biden will only remind the public of “Arms for Dirt”: Trump’s first impeachment and his attempt to shake down the Ukrainian president.
