Early voting is happening this weekend in the Georgia runoff. Can you help boost voter turnout? [1]

Great news in Georgia for the U.S. Senate runoff: The Court of Appeals have allowed early voting the Saturday after Thanksgiving, which will make it easier for all Georgians to participate in this crucial election.

Early voting has long been used by Democratic constituencies to get out the vote, especially in Black churches where the “Souls to the Polls” initiative has been remarkably effective in past cycles. Meanwhile, Republicans have long sought to shut down early voting, and Georgia’s GOP secretary of state tried to argue that counties could not have early voting on Saturday because it’s right after Thanksgiving. But thankfully, the court disagreed.

To help Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock beat Republican Herschel Walker and strengthen Democrats’ Senate majority, we will have to combat a possible enthusiasm gap. While polls show that 75% of voters under 50 (who strongly support Warnock) are “extremely motivated to vote,” about 90% of voters over 50 (who prefer Walker) say the same.

Now, it is on us to make sure that they come out and vote. Let’s go!
