NPR is one of the worst news orgs operating right now (barring rwnj media). It is rare that I can stomach an entire news segment. This morning they were talking about Twitter with someone who is supposed to be an expert — at least they possessed some unique insight.

The guess was like, some people on Twitter are “having fun,” while other people aren’t. Wow, super insightful, but that didn’t make me switch stations.

What got me to change the station was when they guest said that the idea that Twitter will cease to exist was outrageous — unimaginable.

How can anyone who supposedly understands tech not comprehend a world without Twitter? How many once big deal tech companies no longer exist? Twitter is a shitty little app.

Look at Twitter’s books. The company was bleeding cash before Musk wildly over-paid for the company. Now that most of the advertisers are fleeing, along with Twitter’s main product (users), it’s hard to imagine Twitter surviving more than 6 months.

Simply keeping the app running on a day-to-day basis costs a ton of money in labor and hosting fees. That doesn’t include engineers to build new features and fix bugs.

But the guest on NPR said that Musk is still super rich, so Twitter is going to be here forever.

Oh boy.
