It was barely 24 hours since learning they'd won a slim House majority when Republicans held their first press conference. It was to announce they'd be opening up an investigation to determine the extent of President Joe Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter’s business dealings.

Whatever happened to inflation, crime and imminent Mexican invasion across our southern border?

It's puzzling considering an earlier election-year investigation by Senate Republicans found no evidence of improper influence or wrongdoing by the former vice president. Thus, the Senate GOP closed the books on an "inquiry its leaders had hoped would tarnish the Democratic presidential nominee," reports the New York Times.

In its 87-page report, the committee chaired by Senator Ron Johnson found no "smoking gun" evidence the elder Biden improperly manipulated American policy or committed any other misdeed.

Nevertheless, in a statement that read as if it could have been copied verbatim from other documents, but with "Biden" scratched in wherever "Trump" first appeared, Republican Congressmen James Comer and Jim Jordan said the House oversight probe was imperative, their "top priority."

That's because their earlier investigation of the Biden family “had uncovered evidence demonstrating deliberate, repeated deception of the American people, abuse of the Executive Branch for personal gain, use of government power to obstruct the investigation and prevent transparency, and potential violations of the United States Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause.”

Furthermore, said Comer and Jordan, President’s Biden’s “personal participation in his family’s global business ventures — committed through and by a complex network of relatives and associates to enrich the Biden family — has exposed the United States to national security risks that could be leveraged by our enemies to undermine the Office of the President.”

If you cannot see the ugly projection in those words – the shameless hyper-hypocrisy -- you have my permission to stop reading now, no hard feelings, because that’s all I got. I give up.

But if you're still with me, if Comer and Jordan are looking for something to look into, I’ve got just the target:

Strange noises are coming out of Georgia, specifically from the camp of the MAGA Republican Party’s candidate for the US Senate, Herschel Walker.

Apparently, the former Georgia Bulldog star running back doesn’t like people making money off him. He also thinks he should fire his agent because, with of all that money being collected with appeals “to help save America by getting behind Herschel Walker,” Walker himself gets just 10 cents on the dollar.

In response, Walker’s campaign sent out an appeal of its own, one imploring fellow Republicans to stop this fundraising. But if they didn't, Walker wanted to know if he could at least get a bigger slice of the take.

"We need everyone focused on winning the Georgia Senate race, but deceptive fundraising tactics by teams that just won their races are siphoning money away from Georgia,” said Walker’s campaign manager Scott Paradise.

Deceptive fundraising tactics by teams that just won?

“This is the last fight of 2022, and every dollar will help,” Paradise said. “The companies and consultants raising money off this need to cut it out.”

Walker first noticed the bad deal he got last weekend when Trump sent out an email, with his distinctive all-caps typography, asking people to “contribute ANY AMOUNT IMMEDIATELY to the Official Georgia Runoff Fundraising Goal and increase your impact by 1200%”

Some people are saying that If didn't see or click-onto the link for details or changes, they would unlikely notice that 90 percent of their money would automatically be going to Trump, not Walker.

If I was the party that had just taken control of the US House of Representatives, that’s the sort of irregularity I think it would be worth getting to the bottom of, and right away.
