Louisville Courier-Journal Info On Kentucky's Latest Republican Villain Rep. James Comer. [1]

I’m so tired of Kentucky producing some of the worst Republican bastards and pricks in the nation, but you all will get to know the latest edition to the fuckin’ rouges gallery: Republican Congressman James Comer. He will join the ranks of Senators Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, and Congressman Thomas Massie. Thanks to the American people, Rep. Comer will be the new chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and calling what he has plans to do a “shit show” is an insult to excrement.
I will be stealing quite a bit of info from the Louisville Courier Journal, but here is the gist of some of what he thinks needs investigating:
Hunter Biden, but who he is really after is President Joe Biden.
Comer has called Hunter Biden a "national security threat" and expressed particular interest in his finances and his business activity overseas. He indicated inquiries would look into whether the younger Biden had compromised his father's leadership, telling TIME : “The Hunter Biden investigation is slowly becoming the Joe Biden investigation.”
He couldn’t be bothered to look at the national security threat that Trump represents. Or look at Jared Kushner’s deal with the Saudis. Nope. Instead, this is the Hillary Clinton/Benghazi hearings for President Biden.
Expect him to dig into COVID-19 issues, including the virus' beginnings Comer has told news outlets he wants to direct the committee's attention toward pandemic-related inquiries, especially the origins of COVID-19.
And guess who is going to be a pinata for Comer? Dr. Anthony Fauci. I’m sure we will get to also hear much about Comer’s knowledge of science and medicine. /s.
And I honestly do not know how reporter Morgan Watkins was able to type up this next part of the article.
No 'dog-and-pony show,' but he'd welcome Marjorie Taylor Greene Comer said this summer that he wants Republicans and Democrats to take the committee's work under his leadership seriously and has reviewed how chairs from both parties handled the job. “This isn’t a dog-and-pony show. This isn’t a committee where everybody’s gonna scream and be outraged and try to make the witnesses look like fools," he told Politico. Comer raised eyebrows, though, when he indicated he'd welcome controversial U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican who has spread far-right conspiracy theories and regularly makes polarizing comments, to the committee. He has told journalists he wants his performance to be seen as fair and indicated he plans to be judicious, rather than overzealous, in his use of congressional subpoena powers. “I want to hope that when my time is done as chairman of the Oversight Committee, they will say, ‘He was fair, we didn’t try to do anything overtly political,'" he told The Hill.
Words fail me. But this is par for the course for the Courier Journal. When the Binghams sold the paper to Gannet, the paper went down the tubes. And I even heard this same lament from some conservative Republicans that the Courier Journal’s quality is not like it was before Gannet took it over.
Morgan Watkins just kind of lays it out their that Comer would welcome Greene on his committee. If this committee was still run by Democrats and the chair welcomed a die hard communist, no way would it just be mentioned as “raising eyebrows.” But a fascist who participitated in the Jan 6th insurrection being on the committee is just mildly controversial.
And when have Republican investigations NOT been dog and pony shows in the last several years? No mention of all those Benghazi investigations of Hillary Clinton. No information provided on how House Judiciary Committee Republicans did everything they could to derail the first impeachment investigation of Donald Trump.
Sorry I sound very bitter tonight. I’m just disappointed that we did not hold the House. And I upset to hear that Democrats may not pass a debt ceiling deal during the lame duck session because some like Senator Joe Manchin want some “bipartisan” deal with Republicans. We still have those in the Senate who do not take the threats from Republicans toward our economy, rights, and democracy itself seriously.
After the leader of the Republicans sent a mob to kill the members of Congress, you would think Democrats would have gotten the message.
And I am especially bitter that Kentucky has become ground zero for producing some of the most evil men in politics.
